What is lung cancer?
Lung cancer is a condition when cells in the lung grow abnormally and form a tumour. This can be seen on chest x-rays or CT scans as a nodule or a mass.
It is more common in those who smoked tobacco related products however it can also occur in persons who has never smoked also.

How do u I know whether I have more risk for lung cancer?
There are few risk factors which makes a person more at risk for Lung cancer , which is as follows :
Smoking tobacco products
Second hand smoke: It is a term used when smoke is inhaled involuntarily by individuals who do not smoke. It is due to many chemicals that is present in the smoke which makes a person more at risk for Lung cancer and other respiratory conditions
Other risk factors include which is as follows :
Radon
Asbestos
Second-hand smoke exposure
Air pollution
Genetics
What are the common test advised if I have the risk factors as mentioned above?
Lung cancer screening is usually done to screen for different types of lung cancer when a person do not have symptoms. The main idea of screening test was to see if they reduce the risk of dying from Lung cancer. The test is as follows :
Low-dose computed tomography (LDCT): It is a type of CT scan that uses low-dose radiation to make a series of very detailed pictures of areas inside the body using an x-ray machine that scans the body in a spiral path.
Chest x ray: Chest x ray uses the energy beam to see the organs and bones inside the chest.
Sputum cytology: It a procedure in which a sample of sputum (mucus that is coughed up from the lungs) is viewed under a microscope to check for cancer cells.
